Sporotrichosis is a fungal infection caused by the fungi Sporothrix schenckii, generally found worldwide. This fungi is found in the soil, peat moss, hay, fruits, plants and in other soil type materials, as well as cats. for the most part this fungus at 25C, appears moist with a wrinkled surface. at 37C becomes yeast like creamy and the color is beige, at this stage is when the fungi becomes infectious. Sporotrichosis also known as "rose gardener disease" because people who work in the garden with roses are more likely to become infected with sporotrichosis, witch is a subcutaneous infection that travels in the body through out the lymphatic system. The first symptom is an insect bite bump like, it can be red, pink or purple in color, usually found in the finger, hand, or arm.
